Weekly Bulletin – July 14th, 2023

THIS WEEKEND
This Sunday there is a 9am and 10:30am service. We have a visit from Chris, the potential team minister, he will be involved in both services. Communion will not be served this week it will be next week instead. There will be children’s activities. During the afternoon there will be a chance to meet Chris and Sophie informally in the garden of Gill and Roy (54 Dumpton Park Drive) for a drop-in BBQ from around 12.30pm onwards. Please bring a chair with you if you can!

Monday 17th July – Chris is also around on Monday and will be in the building for some of the day.  At 11am on Monday we are arranging another informal opportunity for any of the church family to meet Chris, so feel free to pop along.  Monday will also include time for Chris to spend with the Gap Trustee Team and with our young people.

Monday evening the Deacons will meet to discuss and discern together in preparation for potentially bringing a proposal to the Special Church Meeting on Wednesday.

SPECIAL CHURCH MEETING
Wednesday 19th July –  7pm start!
We have called a Special Church Meeting with one item, to talk, discern and then vote on a resolution from the Deaconate.  We are going for 7pm because it is also the first of the Beach Fireworks in Broadstairs that night. This is significant moment in the life of QRBC and so the Deacons feel it is important that at least 90 members are attending the meeting.  And we would also be looking for a positive vote of 90% of the attending members in order to be able to issue a call to the Team Minister post.

Please let us know if you require a lift to the meeting, we are sure something can be arranged. Just to underline – we do need at least 90 members along to the meeting to make such a significant decision together.

HOLDAY CLUB BOOKING
This year’s summer Holiday Club is called Wonderzone! It will be a three-day club running Aug 22-24th. The booking forms are available now, places will be limited, so book in early.  Return forms to Ella or the Office.
