One of our most important roles in church is to invest in the lives of our young people
both in their spiritual and every day lives.
QRBC offers young people a versatile and relevant programme of events both on a Sunday and midweek.
Sunday Club
For children in school years Reception to Year 5
On the first three Sundays of the month, our children meet together as a Sunday Club. After joining together as a church family, in opening worship, the young people head downstairs to their group. A team of dedicated adults lead the children in various activities. These always include opening the Bible together and exploring what God has to say and how his words impact our young people and their lives.
The children also complete craft activities, play games and get to know one another.
It’s a friendly, energetic and welcoming group.
Preschool-for children aged 4 and under.
On the first three Sundays of the month, the very youngest in our congregation meet together as a group. After the opening worship, our preschoolers go downstairs with their parent or carer. Whilst most parents stay with their children, some of our older preschoolers are happy to be left.
The preschool group is led by a team of adults. Every Sunday, the children hear a short Bible story, play a game to do with that story and then complete a craft. The rest of the session is a free play time. It is a chance for our youngest children to get to know each other and for the parents to socialise too.
The group is very nurturing, gentle and friendly.
Youth Church
(Every Sunday, except 4th of the month)
As part of the 10.30am service the young people can head up to the attic to explore faith with the youth team. Year 6+
Deeper
(1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month: 6.30 food, study 7-9pm)
Bible study Group for teens Year 7+ a great way to connect with each other and a chance to learn more about God
Youth Cafe
(Last Friday of the month 7.30-9.30pm)
Come along for games, activities, time to hang out with other young people AND… we are bringing back the tuck shop! Year 7+
The Event
(Last Sunday of the month 6-8pm, varying venues)
The Event is a chance for young people from churches around Thanet to experience true community together, through group activities and encountering God
Youth Band
(2nd and 4thTuesdays: 6.30 food, practice 7-9pm)
A chance to jam together or learn a new instrument, and hopefully work towards a Christmas performance! No prior experience needed, come along and try it out
Other Events
There are additional events throughout the year too, particularly during school holidays. Some previous ones have included a youth lock-in where we spent the night in the church, and an inflatable obstacle course, so keep your eyes out for more info
Youth Weekend
Each year we spend the weekend away at Carroty Wood. It is a great opportunity for the young people to come together to learn more about God, and have some adventures along the way too! From muddy low ropes to a talent show, an exciting weekend for all!
