Weekly Bulletin – April 14th, 2023

This week there are communion services at 9am and 10.30am. The 10:30am will be streamed on our YouTube channel. The children will be going out to their own separate activities. Sunday Service – YouTube

Well done to everyone who completed the “Give Up Something Nice for Beans and Rice” Lent Challenge! You have been helping to provide school meals for pupils at Crossroads Secondary School in Soroti, where approximately £5 pays for a student’s school meals for a whole month! I have a birthday in December, but I would like to celebrate it in the summer. Would all of you who were born in 1933 and would like a party, please contact me (Jeanne Hammond) at home or through QRBC in the next 2 months, closing date May 20th.  

ACTS (Active Christianity in Thanet Schools) PRAYER FOR SCHOOLS
People across Thanet are meeting to pray for our schools and the work of ACTS in partnership with Thanet churches on Thursday 27th April. There are opportunities for anyone that wants to join us to pray from 10am – 9pm.
There will be focused prayer at 10am, 1pm & 6.30pm, Creative, liturgical, and Interactive prayer too. Please spread the word and join us in prayer for the 34,000 children and young people, their schools, the staff, and their families.

The next Men’s Group Event is at the end of the month. Indoor Green Bowling on Thursday 27th April 6.3Opm at Cliftonville indoor Bowling Ctr. The price of £20 includes Fish and Chips – Tea/Coffee. Sign-up sheet is outside the auditorium.

Thanksgiving service for the life of Ruth Ferris on Wednesday 26th April at 11am at Queens Road Baptist Church.

NEW PEOPLE’S LUNCH – Sunday 23rd April @12:30ish
All are welcome, whether you have been here at Queens Road for days, weeks or months.
We will be having food together and sharing information about the life of the church and how you can be involved.

Doors open 6.30 pm for 7.00 pm start 
Finger buffet and soft drinks provided.
No charge but donations welcome on the night.

There will be a range of items of clothing, accessories etc available to buy (can pay by card or cash).
We would be very grateful of volunteers to be models on the night. Ladies, men, young people, and children needed.  If you can help, please let Jenny, Di, Lorna, Charmaine, Cheryl or Mary know, ASAP.
